Buying diamonds and other precious stones can be intimidating to the uninitiated. As with any purchase, consumer education is the key to making a satisfying purchase. Information on diamonds, other precious stones, and precious metals is abundant on the internet. You local library is another good source, but the best place to learn about precious stones is from a jeweler you trust. There are four basic qualities that are used to define the grade of a diamond or any other precious stone. Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat are referred to as the 4C's. We pride ourselves on educating our customers about the 4C's. Knowing the exact grade of a stone you want to purchase, makes it much easier to compare prices. We encourage our customers to do so, because we are confident that we have the best prices. To be sure that a stone is in fact what the jeweler is telling you it is, look for certified diamonds. Certified diamonds come with certifications by reputable institutions like the GIA (Gemological Institue of America). We also work with several independant appraisers who can appraise a piece of jewelry you already have or a new one you are considering buying. |
